A native New Yorker, Barbara started her wine career while she was a design student at Parsons School of Design in New York City. She led the wine program at a couple of boutique restaurants but felt that she needed to learn more about wine and decided to work as a floor sommelier instead. She was a sommelier for four years at The Modern under Master Sommelier Michael Engelmann. During her tenure at The Modern, the restaurant gained its second Michelin star and received the Grand Award from Wine Spectator for its distinguished wine program. Working within a great team is what Barbara enjoys the most in a restaurant. After four years at The Modern, she jumped at the opportunity ato work as a sommelier at the renowned 3-starred Michelin restaurant, Le Bernardin. With Aldo Sohm at the helm of the wine program, Barbara is having fun learning more about food and wine pairings with one of the best sommeliers in the world!
